Mesa Verde Counseling Department Purpose
The Mesa Verde Counseling Department's primary purpose is to directly help, support, and advocate for Maverick students. Additionally, we indirectly support students by working with and supporting parents, teachers, staff, and other community members.  If you are unable to reach your counselor, feel free to contact:

Counseling Department Goals
To develop a comprehensive program, the Mesa Verde School Counseling Department will be working on the following goals throughout the 2023-2024 school year 

  • Provide in-class instruction on:
    • Career planning
    • Social-Emotional Skills
    • Course & Life Planning
  • Work with students during the Flex period, both individually and in small groups.
  • Develop purposeful supports for parents
  • Develop relationships with Alumni

What do School Counselors Do? 
Assisting with course selection, academic planning & goal setting.
Problem solving, crisis counseling, social struggles and general "life help."
Career investigation and college admissions.
Primary contact for Student Support Team (SST) and Section 504 meetings.
